Chris Chattaway died. He was the friend and runner who trained with Roger Bannister (first sub-4-minute mile)

Interesting semi-personal story. The sub-4-minute mile was accomplished in May 1954. During the winter of 1954 my father broke his arm in a rugby match and another chap was also hurt. There happened to be a doctor in the stands watching the game. His name was John Weir. My father knew who he was because he was the Queen's physician or the Physician Royal. Along with him was an intern from St. Mary's hospital in Paddington. Weir helped the other man while the intern helped my dad. Turns out the intern was Roger Bannister. Sir Bannister is still alive, born the same year as my father.
